Angelo founded 9 startups, was involved in 4 IPOs, invested in numerous Technology, Entertainment and Fintech companies, and secured investments from EU funds, Angel Investors and VCs. Angelo is an EBAN member, WBAF senator and BAM president, and was twice named as Malta’s Top Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014 and 2019. Holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Angelo authored over 23 papers about Artificial Intelligence, Language Processing and Search Engines. Angelo won a bronze medal at the 1995 International Olympiad in Informatics.     Raúl Insa Dr. Raúl Insa has more than 20 years’ experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies, such as Parke-Davis (Pfizer), UCB Pharma, Uriach Group (Palau Pharma) and ISDIN (Esteve), working on drug development from drug identification to commercialization. He received his Medical training and his PhD in Clinical Neurology at the University of Alicante, Spain; an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona and an Executive Education Program from IESE, Barcelona. He has also attended a couple of biotech leadership programs from Harvard Business School, Boston. More than 45 publications and papers, 7 chapters in books, 87 congress communications and 12 pharmaceutical patents.

CYBER INVESTOR DAYS

The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) and the EIT Digital Accelerator organize the 7th edition of the Cyber Investor Days, scheduled on 13-14 May 2020 in Brussels, Belgium! They support the growth of European Cybersecurity startups and SMEs by providing them access-to-market and access-to-finance opportunities. Pre-selected Startups and SMEs will have a chance to engage in strategic B2B meetings with the leading corporates and investors from Europe and beyond. Hence: Interested startups & SMEs are invited to submit their applications for the pre-selection process by Monday, 23 March (midnight CET). Amaldi Foundation, Director General of Research Consortium Hypatia and Managing Director of a Strategic Management Firm. He has over 10 years’ experience as investor, mentor and board member, having a background in finance for innovation, technology transfer and IP management in both private and public sector organisations. Lorenzo previously served as a lawyer and financial analyst and his expertise in the legal field spans from corporate finance to business contracts and administrative law.

She joined FiatAvio in 2002 (AVIO from 2003), worldwide leader in the aerospace industry, as Project Engineer in the Space Propulsion Design Unit, where she mainly worked on Ariane 5 and Vega solid rocket motors performances. In 2005, she joined D'Appolonia (Rina Consulting from 2016), an engineering consultancy company, as Project Manager, and worked in Aerospace&Defence industrial projects. In particular, she was deeply involved in the European Space Agency Technology Transfer Programme, as technology broker. She has been working, since 2005, in the coordination and management of research projects funded within the European Framework Programmes and also had the opportunity of evaluating H2020 proposals for REA (Research Executive Agency). She has recently joined ASI in the Innovation & Technology Transfer Unit.
