Meet the Team

Pablo Garrido 
Head Office

Pablo heads up the EBAN’s Office, tracking issues of strategic importance to the early-stage investing ecosystem. He also strives to identify opportunities to influence the EU decision making processes, working closely with industry’s stakeholders to promote the excellence and expertise of EBAN’s Board Members to the European audience.

Pablo is also responsible of the coordination and implementation of EBAN’s activities in EU funded projects. Being the first contact point of the Association, he is also looking after members’ interests and helping ensure they obtain best value from their membership. Prior to joining the organisation, he developed a successful finance career for international companies in Ireland, Spain and United Kingdom. With a solid background in banking and administration and a determined entrepreneurial character, Pablo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing Management by New Buckinghamshire University, United Kingdom, and a Master in Sport’s Management by the University of Southern Denmark.

Ana Barjasic 

Project Leader

Ana started collaborating with EBAN during the 13th Annual EBAN Congress in Vienna, and later relocated to Brussels headquarters as a Project Coordinator. In 2013, Ana managed the European Business Angels Week, the world’s largest initiative on promoting angel and early stage investment, with over 140 events in 34 countries. Ana holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy and Sociology from University of Zagreb, Croatia and is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Humanities at the University of Vienna, Austria. Her previous work experiences include PR, communications, marketing, journalism, project and event management.


Siri Swedborg
Law Trainee

Siri holds a Master of Laws from Lund University, Sweden, and is currently pursuing an Advanced Master in Intellectual Property Rights and ICT at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and HUBrussels, Belgium. Her master thesis has been published in a law journal focused on intellectual property rights (NIR).  She has work experience both from the public law sector and from organisations working with business development.


Medina Braha
Research Analyst

Medina Braha has started her work at EBAN as Research Analyst in in the process of updating the Co-investment Funds Compendium and the Tax Outlook Compendium.  These two publications, co-edited with BDO, remain an utmost tool to EBAN and its members and are highly regarded by policy makers across Europe. Medina holds a Master of Science degree in Economics for Business Analysis, obtained at Staffordshire University in United Kingdom. She also holds a bachelor degree in Management and Informatics, obtained at University of Prishtina, Kosovo.

She also works as Teaching Assistant at University of Prishtina, Kosovo’s first and largest university among all public and private higher education institutions. At the same time she also holds the position of Ambassador (Executive Representative) of Baybars Altuntas for the Republic of Kosovo. In that position, she established the first Baybars Altuntas Junior Society in the world.


Maria Maio
Marketing Trainee
Maria holds a Master degree in International Relations from Salerno University, Italy, where she also attended a Post Graduate Course in European Union Law. She elaborated a Master thesis in the topic of Media Coverage of the outsourcing process. Her main field of interest is communication and marketing. Before joining EBAN, she took a traineeship in the Press and Communication Service of the Italian Embassy in Paris and worked as a fundraiser for the United Nations.


Julie Morel
Social Media Trainee

As a social media trainee, Julie looks after the community management of EBAN. She publishes news about early stage investment through social channels and the website.
Julie is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration at EDHEC Nice, France. She begins this internship after a 6-month ERASMUS program at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Germany. Thanks to this education, Julie had the opportunity to work for two start-ups. She got an overview of the SME’s world and realized the role of Business Angels’ investment in a company’s success. Julie is decided to pursue a Master in Entrepreneurship after her graduation.
