READY FOR EQUITY! ACADEMY™

Set up following 4 years of research and development in the Ready for Equity! and Ready for Equity!2 projects to create an all-embracing training package for Business Angels and entrepreneurs, the READY FOR EQUITY! ACADEMY™ is the first international provider of investor – and investment readiness programmes for Business Angels, entrepreneurs and professionals in the informal investment market.

The Launch of the RfE! Academy™ took place on Tuesday, 21st September 2010 at the Chamber of Commerce of Györ-Moson-Sopron in Györ, Hungary. The full programme, information on side events and the registration area are available on the events section of the Ready for Equity!™ website here.

The READY FOR EQUITY!2 Project

EBAN is involved as disseminating partner in the Ready for Equiyty!2 project, which began in October 2008 for a two-year period and is part-funded under the Leonardo da Vinci European Union Programme. The project aims to address the existing failure in the early stage financing chain by creating European-wide training curricula and methodology guidelines to train intermediaries (business angel network managers), business angels and entrepreneurs in emerging venture capital markets in Europe.

Lead by UK based Finance South East, the project brings together 10 partners involved in business angel activities in Europe, namely:

One university partner is involved in shaping and developing the content of the training curricula - The Winchester Business School, UK www.winchester.ac.uk, and EBAN is the  main dissemination partner.

As such, EBAN is in charge of raising awareness about the project’s results near the early stage investor and entrepreneur community in Europe. The Ready for Equity!2 Project builds on the main achievements of the Ready for Equity!1 Project. Launched in October 2006 and lead by the same current project’s leader Finance South East, this pilot project developed and tested two European-wide training curricula for informal investors and business angels, and entrepreneurs in Europe. In this framework, a Resource Pack was produced, which includes all the tools developed to facilitate the implementation of the courses:

1. Training curriculum for angels and entrepreneurs
2. Guidelines for the implementation of training courses
3. Pedagogic guidelines,
4. Recommendations, and check list for implementing a programme,
5. Mapping Exercise: Analysis of the supply and demand for informal venture capital.
