Lean In Project Comes to an End after 2 Years of Supporting Female Entrepreneurs and Business Angels

After 24 months of efforts, the European Commission funded project, Lean In EU Women Business Angels, came to an end on December 11th with a the Final Conference and EU Awarding Ceremony in Torino, Italy. The event celebrated women throughout Europe who are still fighting to get their deserved place in the business world as investors and entrepreneurs. After an inspiring special workshop on happiness let by Kyla Mitsunaga, the 13 female entrepreneurs coming from Estonia, Spain, Italy, Greece and Denmark were ready and excited to take the floor to present their project.

They were all selected during national pitching battles that took place in their respective countries during the course of the Lean In project and Torino was their time to shine once more and prove to the audience that women should definitely be taken seriously when it comes to building a company from scratch and making it work.

Under the dynamic moderation of women’s rights activist Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, the 13 business ladies fought to win the ultimate price put together by the partners of the project: various mentoring sessions by business and investment experts and pitching and co-working opportunities online and throughout Europe. Invited business angels and investment experts formed a impartial jury that elected Frederikke Schmidt of the startup Roccamore as the Best Female Founder and Diamante Srl as the Best Female Startup. The EBAN community will get a chance to see them pitch during our February Scaleup of the Month session!

EBAN is particularly proud to have been working with wonderful partners on this important project and will carry on its efforts to support women entrepreneurs and Business Angels in the future.
