On September 22-26, 2014, President Ivo Josipović of Croatia will host GEC2: The Entrepreneurial Mindset in Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split. President Ivo Josipović of Croatia is the high patron. Co-hosts are Prefect Dubrovnik-Neretva County Nikola Dobroslavić and the Mayor of the City of Split Ivo Baldasar.
The gathering will explore new approaches from around the world that are inspiring and empowering more citizens to start thinking like entrepreneurs and sharpening the underlying skills that enable them to succeed. Over the past six years, the Global Entrepreneurial Congress (GEC) has evolved into a premier annual gathering of startup champions from 140 nations dedicated to building and strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems that fuel advances in innovation and economic growth.

On Wednesday September 24, VC4Africa presents the “Future of Angel Investing in Africa” Investor Summit at DEMO Africa 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria, together with various partners.
The event will be the first time networks like Cairo Angels, Lagos Angels Network, Ghana Angel Investors Network, Africa Angels Network, Angel Africa List and others come together to meet, exchange best practices, share lessons learned and set the road map for the future. Experts from organisations such as infoDev, the WorldBank, African Development Bank, the European Business Angels Networks (EBAN), the VC4Africa Investor Network and others are invited to join the conversation too.
This Investor Summit on the afternoon of Wednesday September 24 will bring together internationally renowned investors and will conclude with an exclusive investor-only cocktail on the evening of September 24 for those who are joining DEMO Africa 2014, the annual event where innovative African entrepreneurs come to launch their products and announce to Africa and the world what they have developed, happening September 25th and 26th. Both are scheduled to take place at the Oriental Hotel Lagos, Nigeria.
The program of the Investor Summit will focus on knowledge exchange between the continent’s various angel investors and angel investor networks and focus on the roadmap of the future of angel investing in Africa. The program will consist of speakers, break-away sessions and fireside chats. Investors will be both local and international and will consist of angel investors, impact investors, venture capital funds, corporates (corporate venture capital); all focused on early stage SME investing.

BCN Business Angels, “Fundación INLEA” and the City Hall of Barcelona through Barcelona Activa, launch the Re-Invest in Future- Angel Plan, a training plan aimed to form, mainly, people with experience and equity in order to boost businesses. The program is oriented to people, generally executives and businessmen with a certain financial capacity, in order to expand their knowledge on this field and begin to make their first investments accompanied by experts.
Re-Invest in Future-Angel Plan has an accompanying format program, supporting the new Business Angels in their involvement in new projects or in companies with changes required. In addition, the speakers who are involved are professional and successful businessmen from different industries looking forward to share their knowledge and experience of this field.
This training plan takes place in Barcelona the 29th and 30th of September, from 9:30 to 18:00 hours.
